Ceph is a modern distributed file system that allows organisations to store their data on commodity hardware, without sacrificing fault tollerance, load balancing and fail-over.
It offers both traditional block storage and modern object storage services for use in modern cloud deployments. It’s open source and offers both a free community supported edition as well as a paid edition supported by Red Hat.
ZoneStruct uses Ceph as one of many solutions to aggregate storage on server clusters. This allows organisations to deploy fleets of affordable low-powered mini- or micro servers as their IT infrastructure backbone, escaping traditional expensive and wasteful server solutions.
